5 Reasons Why Organic Ghee is Better than Regular Ghee

Ghee has long been a staple in Indian cuisine and health supplements, however, knowledge of its benefits is no more restricted to India. Ghee is now an increasingly popular health supplement adopted all over the world.

A healthier alternative to butter, ghee is known to not only lower the health risks but also provide additional benefits when added routinely to meals.

To understand said benefits, it is first important to understand what exactly ghee is.

What Is Ghee?

A type of clarified butter, ghee is more concentrated in fat as compared to regular butter, as it is devoid of the milk content and water solids. Used in Indian cultures and those of neighbouring countries, ghee was first made to prevent butter from getting spoilt in summers.

As the milk solids are removed from ghee, it does not require any kind of refrigeration for preservation, and can be stored at room temperature for weeks.

In addition to its culinary usage, ghee also is a popular ingredient in Ayurveda and has a variety of health benefits.

Benefits of Ghee

  • May reduce gut inflammation: A rich source of butyric acid, ghee can help relieve inflammation and improve digestive health naturally.
  • Rich in vitamin A: Ghee is loaded with vitamin A, which is a fat-soluble vitamin integral to eye health, skin health, immunity, and more.
  • Could support heart health: Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, ghee can help in decreasing inflammation and keeping the risk of heart disease at bay.
  • Rich in conjugated linoleic acid: Some researchers have observed that conjugated linoleic acid can help alleviate health conditions like high cholesterol, cancer, and obesity.

Now that we know there are known benefits of ghee, let’s look at how organic ghee is better than regular ghee.

5 Benefits of Organic Ghee

1. A Healthier Cooking Medium

According to nutritionists, ghee is a wonderful cooking medium, particularly for frying. This is due to the fact that it has a high smoking point. Organic ghee does not end up breaking down into harmful free radicals or produce poisonous fumes at high temperatures, unlike other, more traditional cooking oils. The smoke point of ghee is 482 degrees Fahrenheit. Additionally, it has a very long shelf life even without refrigeration, so one need not worry about it going bad anytime soon.

2. Numerous Health and Nutrition Benefits

Organic ghee has a variety of health and nutrition benefits to it. To start with, it helps in improving digestion and relieving inflammation. In addition to that, the antioxidants in ghee also help strengthen the body’s immune system, consequently improving the body’s ability to absorb essential minerals and vitamins from other food sources.

It also is a rich source of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. It generally does not trigger any dairy allergies and is deemed safe to consume for lactose or casein intolerant people. It also is an excellent source of healthy fats.

3. Beneficial for Skin

Organic ghee is a great source of nutrition for skin, and can be applied anywhere, from face, to scalp, to hair, etc. It can help treat, to some extent, a number of skin conditions by providing the required nutrients. It is also a known natural remedy for treating burns and rashes.

4. Has medicinal properties

Ghee plays an important role in Ayurveda, given its versatility and medicinal properties. Its benefits range from enhancing eyesight, to curing cough, relieving constipation, and moderating thyroid dysfunction. Ghee is also known to boost metabolism.

5. Brings positivity in life

One of the best Satvik foods in Ayurveda, ghee can usher in more positivity in life by ensuring wholesome nourishment and healing.

Dabur Organic Ghee

Dabur Organic Ghee is a traditional Indian recipe, made from 100% Soil Association-certified organic cow's milk. It is free from lactose and any genetically modified organisms, making it suitable for vegetarians and those who are lactose intolerant. Its bevy of medicinal properties bring a variety of benefits for the body, including improved immunity and better health. It does not have any artificial colours, preservatives, and GMO, and is safe for consumption as well as topical application.
